Masker
Not wealth just greed, look out the window, your local street,
innocent people plead, as burning houses they receive,
what is this place we live? no one fears the police,
a generation where o.a.p's are scared of youth,
young children dont know what to believe,
a generation filled with anger and hatred,
so violence is retrieved,
seems to me like our government is just so naive,
this is not right,
as olympics approaches shame covers our lives,
so stop turning to riots or violence with knives,
cos it ends in destruction and pain,
so put out your lights,
its not a joke, not a game, this is beyond insane,
people have started their businessess,
ones theyll never regain,
recession will be the new fame,
as councils struggle and then complain,
the debt restarts,a circle, again and again,
then it hits hard,
you idiots had no brains,
dont ask for help when you set london on fire, flames,
Police sirens i hear, but i hope you get caught,
its disrespectful to those who have earnt a living,
youve torn it apart,
i hope you see the destrcuction, and it best tear up your heart,
i wont hurt you with knives, i'll just lyrically outsmart,
at the end of the day, its your lives youll have to restart,
dissapointed, ashamed and upset, at london that youve pulled apart,
I dont know where to end this, and im suprised i managed to start,
forget al qaeda, weve got our own to keep calm.
Change in a day, who do we turn to?, perhaps it time to pray, pain in a million ways, who will come to save? billions to pay, people locked away, but here I live another day, waiting for the nightmare to fade away, overreacting, but I've lost my pride, because of this I'm bored, trapped inside, these riots have no reason behind them, people just have green eyes, as they steal tv's they can't afford to buy, this isn't life, this is selfishness in disguise, tiredness becoming evident through policemans eyes, but today's a new day and I'm filled with surprise, to see communities coming together, to help end the cries, forgive them they know not what they do the church replies, let's come together, rebuild, replenish and start afresh, as we turn right the damage that was once left.
Snizzy
My mother wont let me go outside my house
She's only letting me watch the news with her on the couch
Juvenile delinquents lurking round, motiveless thoughts that lead their actions
They've seem to have lost the passion to live life with satisfaction
Hoddies up, jeans low, bandannas around their neck
Walking with a swagger saying 'I am a threat'
One man alone will take a short route
But as a group, that's when they start misrepresenting the youth
Due to poverty, or lack of education
Or maybe their desire of streets domination
They feel the need to grab a tool as if it's excavation
Having a blast, while they blast our economy down inside our nation.
It all started when a young mixed race guy
was shot to death in car after a police station ride, intentionally
A couple of hoodrats thought this was blasphemy
This fuelled the riot, and other gangs joined in like a... cant think of a simile
And the last couple of days and nights have sent:
vandalism, arson, assault, theft... what a chain of events
Let me start with vandalism, they use their middle fingers
At the police, government, parents with kids and miscreants
Next is arson, they be sparking up old buildings, like Reeves Corner
Burns another house once they've used up all their water
Third is assault, they be throwing heavy items from the ground
Stunning people, ducks on their heads swimming like a merry-go-round
Last is theft, they break down companies and steal their stuff
Selling it so desperately, I heard a guy sell a TV in Brixton for five bucks!
Once they crumbled this town, the next one away they go
Leaving the local residence a scared place to go
Sometimes I really wonder why adults look down at us with anger
Most of us are not really as bad, but they haven't got it tangled
Because with youths like these, with no plans but grief
Cutting their own community down, like their own hearts
We strive to find some light, illuminating inside their dark
We set up youth clubs, and parks, they can make friends
In their eyes, I really don't think they realise
that people be working hard for their shit, not a surprise
and the scars they be leaving be bleeding in several lives
Once they learn, is the moment that peace will then arise
To make a sacrifice... and to drop the scythe
